I am excited to announce that I am doing my first triathlon since donating my kidney in 2023! I will be doing the Hopkins Royal Triathlon on Aug. 30 at Shady Oak Beach in Minnetonka. Come cheer me on!
After I donated and returned to health, I have wanted to do another triathlon. I had done this one four times. But I have had some calf pain so I haven’t been able. I have been doing physical therapy for a long time now and I believe I am in good enough shape to do the triathlon!
I am pictured with my friend and race director Doobie. He is a fellow kidney donor! And I plan on doing the triathlon representing Kidney Donor Athletes (which was founded by a fellow animal advocate, too!)
The race starts at 8:15 am and I expect to finish by 10:10 am. You can either leave then or you can stay and celebrate for a while. There will be vegan food options.
