Back to Twin Cities Touring

Overview

This is a beautiful big park in close to the city!

Bike Ride

Some of the ride is unpleasant suburban roads, but there are some pleasant bike trails through parks just south of Bunker Hills. It’s mostly up the Mississippi River, and that’s nice to ride up.

Camping

Why I would go again

  • It’s close to home
  • There’s more park to explore

Why I would not go again

  • There are nicer bike rides to places that are close

At the end of my first trip to Bunker Hills, we found blueberries! There was a large patch near our campsite, and we harvested many. On the way home, we had open-faced blueberry almond butter sandwiches and they were fabulous. These are the only blueberries I have ever foraged, touring or otherwise! My friend Fred knows all about foraging and noticed them. Yum!
